NUI Galway has started a new Marine Sciences and Biology programme for international students coming to Galway to gain a short term study abroad experience. The course lasts from six months to one year and focuses on marine life, marine environment and biological sciences related to marine life underlying the sea. On the programme, students will learn about the evolution of marine life and the impact of human activity on its existence in the typical marine environment of Galway Bay and further afield.
NUI Galway is the only university in Ireland to offer an undergraduate degree in Marine Science. The unique marine environment around Galway Bay and all around Ireland has led to a high concentration of marine scientists in the region and is internationally renowned for its marine research and teaching.
