University College Cork named Most Sustainable University in Ireland

University College Cork has been named the most sustainable university in Ireland following the release of the 2023 QS World University Rankings for Sustainability.

The University placed 123rd globally (out of 700 higher education institutions), impressing in the areas of Environmental Impact and Social Impact.

This is the first year that QS have made sustainability a key part of the QS World University Rankings framework as more students than ever pay attention to how a university is engaged with the environmental and social agenda.

Jessica Turner, CEO at QS, said: "QS aims to provide prospective students with independent insights into university records in improving sustainability and support universities in monitoring their progress as they strive to implement their ESG strategies and find solutions to unprecedented global challenges."
