Join UCD Professors, students and staff for a unique webinar where they will discuss and showcase UCD data-related programmes.

Learn about UCD data programmes, which cover subjects from fintech and political data analysis to the latest data analytics techniques such as Data Programming and Machine Learning and discover how Bioinformatics, Data Science and AI are transforming medicine and medical research. Programmes discussed will include:

- MSc in Financial Data Science

Fintech (the merging of finance, data and technology) is transforming financial services. New and emerging technologies such as big data analytics, blockchain, machine learning and AI, cloud computing and cryptocurrencies are transforming business operations. The MSc in Financial Data Science is suitable for graduates of engineering, computer science, mathematics, and business (with quantitative modules), with a talent for and interest in applying data science to problems particular to the realm of financial services.

- MSc Politics & Data Science

The explosion of online and social media, the proliferation of digitized information, and improved electronic access to political decision-making provide new opportunities to study existing and emerging political processes in various democratic and non-democratic political regimes. The MSc Politics and Data Science programme is organised around two streams of study. The first stream grounds students with backgrounds in political science and related social sciences in data science methods. The second stream is geared towards students with computer science or related technical backgrounds, teaching them about research design and theories in political science.

- MSc in Economics and Data Analytics

Data insights are now a crucial part of the modern economy, influencing decision-making in both industry and government. As a result, how businesses, consumers, employees, and interest groups interact and make choices has changed. This programme, jointly offered by the UCD School of Economics and the UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics, combines knowledge of human behaviour and decision-making from economics with the latest data analytics techniques, such as Data Programming, Machine Learning, and Bayesian Analysis.

- MSc in Data Analytics for Precision Medicine

Genomic data and advances in Bioinformatics, Data Science and AI are transforming medicine, medical research and the biopharma value chain. Upskilling and diversifying the skillsets of a generation of life scientists, biomedical scientists and healthcare professionals to utilize this data effectively is essential to realizing this transformation. Drawing on Bioinformatics, Machine learning, Biostatistics and Data Science for Genomics coursework, this MSc is designed to provide students with interdisciplinary skill sets to draw insights and value from such datasets and communicate their findings across different domains.
