Dublin City University is a globally recognised university committed to excellence and talent development through its academic and operational excellence fundamentals. DCU’s strategic objective is to gain recognition as an International University of Enterprise and to equip students with the requisite skills and knowledge to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Dublin City University was initially established to fulfil the national requirement for a highly skilled workforce in business, science and electronics, computer technology, communications, and languages.

DCU was the first university in Ireland to introduce work placement as part of its degree programmes. Its degree programmes were also the first to be interdisciplinary—for example, studying business alongside languages. Many DCU students study at universities in Spain, France, Germany, and Austria as part of their degree programmes under Erasmus exchange agreements.

Services for International Students

The University provides language translation services and an Inter Faith Centre for its students, while the sports centre offers access to a spa, sauna, pool, and fitness centre.

About Location

Dublin City University is a young university on an 85-acre campus three miles north of the River Liffey in the city centre, just a 15-minute drive from Dublin airport. With the city just a 10-minute bus drive away, students of DCU have the best of both worlds: the social and cultural benefits of city life but with the security and vibrancy of a university campus built very much for today. Students can enjoy cycling and walking to the campus and around, which are convenient, cheap and eco-friendly commuting methods.

"My consultant was very helpful and motivating. She helped me every step of the way, even when the deadline was so close. I could not have done it without her. I'd recommend this service to anyone interested in taking the stress out of applying alone."
