Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, died Thursday 8th September after 70 years on the throne. She was 96.
Responding to the announcement of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Dwayne Gallagher and Orion Judge, SI-UK Directors, said:
"On behalf of all at SI-UK, we are deeply saddened to hear that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has passed away. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this time.
"Over the course of Her Majesty’s 70-year reign, her life was devoted to public service. We feel immensely honoured that The Queen played such an important role in the foundation of many aspects of university life in the UK."
As a mark of respect, national flags on university campuses across the country will be flown at half-mast for ten days of national mourning.
