University College Cork to develop sports complex as part of new sports strategy

A new sports facility has been earmarked for development in Curraheen on an eight acre UCC owned land. The development of a new sports complex will “help unlock the power of sport and physical activity across all areas of participation, representation and achievement”, according to Mr Buckley, UCC’s Director of Sports.

University College Cork has the highest student participation rate in sports compared to other Irish universities. It has more than 4000 student members in various sports club at UCC. The development plan also includes establishment of new sports clubs and launching sports participation programmes as part of the key sports strategy at UCC.
