Health and Support Services at Dublin Institute of Technology for New Students

Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) has released a guide to health and well being for new students. The guidelines describe the range of facilities and support services available to students at DIT campuses and how the new students can avail these benefits for free or at a reduced cost. All students with a valid DIT student card can avail medical services at the DIT Health Centre in Linenhall and Aungier Street.

Disability Support Services are also provided to students after an assessment with the Learning Support Officer. Support services like learning support, exam accommodation and assistive technology support are provided as per the nature of disabilities, needs of the students and course requirements. Students Counselling and Development support services are available to deal with mental health and academic difficulties experienced by students during their time at DIT. Other services include pastoral care and chaplaincy services and peer mentoring services. Financial assistance can be availed by students at DIT through their Student Assistance Fund and Travel Assistance Fund support.

"My consultant was very helpful and motivating. She helped me every step of the way, even when the deadline was so close. I could not have done it without her. I'd recommend this service to anyone interested in taking the stress out of applying alone."
